Spotted this for sale in Practical Classics September 2010. It was local but more than I could afford. I thought I'd pop down and have a look just to be nosey. I decided that if it was a beetleback I'd make an offer and it was. I offered £600 less than he was asking and he bit my hand off. I should've known then it was going to be trouble
First job was to lower it. Blocks at the back and shorter springs up front
Now that was sorted, I turned my attention to the massive starting issues. Finally cured with a complete engine swap! While I was at it, I put a phase 2 overdrive box in. Engine and gearbox kindly donated by Tony owner of the Slamguard.
